Roof Types

Roofs come in all different shapes and sizes. From small too large.

GABLE ROOF

A roof with two sloping sides and a gable at each end.

CROSS GABLE ROOF

Cross gable roofs have two or more gable rooflines that intersect.

SIMPLE HIP ROOF

PYRAMID HIP ROOF

In a pyramid hip roof, all the sides slope downwards towards the wall with three or more rectangular faces.

CROSS HIPPED ROOF

The cross hip roof essentially has two intersecting hip sections, that run perpendicular to each other.

MANSARD ROOF

A roof that has four sloping sides, each of which becomes steeper halfway down.

SALTBOX ROOF

A Saltbox roof is a pitched roof that slopes down to the back.

GAMBREL ROOF

A roof with two sides, each of which has a shallower slope above a steeper one.

FLAT ROOF

A flat roof is a roof which is almost level in contrast to the many types of sloped roofs.
