Snow guard Installation Instructions

We recommend that any installation of snow guards cover the entire length of any roof that they are installed on. Partial installation over a portion of a roof section that provides protection over a doorway will result in snow guard and roof damage from sliding snow. Snow guards should be installed 2ft above the Eaves on the roof directly above the outside wall of the house. Homes that have roofs with steep slopes above a 4/12 pitch or that are longer than 15ft from the Eave to the Ridge should have additional rows of snow guards installed. The greater the pitch or higher the roof the more snow guards that will be required to stop snow slides from occurring. Roofs that are more than 15ft from Eave to ridge should have a second row of guards installed 3-5 ft above the first row and additional rows of snow guards for every additional 5-10 ft of roof above 20ft.
